Design Challenge
Create a festive landscape with a large area for celebrations, quiet area for intimate conversations, and inviting pathways.
Design Solution
A large flagstone patio with "living" mortar invites celebrations.
A gully becomes a dry/wet streambed with black and blue pebbles snaking through riparian plants. An obtrusive garage wall becomes a "living wall" where over time the informally espaliered flannel bush reaches out and "holds up" hanging planters. Native plants lure flying entertainment to the garden.
